Lecture Solar Neutrino Physics
Solar burning, pp/CNO sources, tunnelling and thermal averaging, neutrino oscillations, matter effects, detector events, and a short statistical example.
Masterclass 1 Fluxes, Event Rates, and a Normalization Fit
Build the no-oscillation SK-like event model from fluxes, the 8B spectrum, and the νe e recoil cross section. Then generate pseudo-data and fit the 8B normalization.
Masterclass 2 Oscillations and a Two-Parameter Fit
Add PEANUTS survival-probability tables to the SK-like event model, generate pseudo-data, and fit sin2θ12 and Δm221. The day-night table is included for optional checks.
Project Blind SK-like Solar Neutrino Fit
Final integrated project: reproduce the homework chain, fit the blinded recoil spectrum, study Earth regeneration, and answer the theory questions. The hidden values of sin2θ12 and Δm221 will be revealed at the defense.
