Киральные волны и масса фермионаChiral waves and the fermion mass

В конце показано, почему массовый член запрещён $SU(2)$-симметрией и как его даёт юкавская связь с хиггсовским конденсатом, $m=fv/\sqrt{2}$.In $(1+1)$ dimensions the massless Dirac equation gives two independent waves: $\psi_R$ runs to the right, $\psi_L$ to the left. The mass term couples them, $i(\partial_t\pm\partial_x)\psi=m\psi$; the chirality $\langle\gamma_5\rangle$ oscillates with the frequency $2E$, and the packet slows down to $v=p/E<1$. At the end: why the mass term is forbidden by $SU(2)$ symmetry and how the Yukawa coupling to the Higgs condensate gives it, $m=fv/\sqrt{2}$.

ПримечаниеNote
Уравнение Дирака в (1+1) измерениях в киральном базисе, i(∂_t + ∂_x)ψ_R = mψ_L, i(∂_t − ∂_x)ψ_L = mψ_R, решено точно в импульсном представлении (унитарная эволюция); m = fv/√2. Единицы ħ = c = 1 условные.The Dirac equation in 1+1 dimensions in the chiral basis, i(∂_t + ∂_x)ψ_R = mψ_L, i(∂_t − ∂_x)ψ_L = mψ_R, solved exactly in momentum space (unitary evolution); m = fv/√2. The units ħ = c = 1 are arbitrary.
