A black hole of a million solar masses: the event horizon, the ergosphere and a disc whose inner edge is the last stable orbit. A Sun-like star falls on the hole and is torn apart by the tides at $r_t=R_*(M/m)^{1/3}\approx47\,r_g$ (the gravitational radius is $r_g=GM/c^2$). About half of the stellar matter is bound and returns to the hole; the return rate falls as $t^{-5/3}$, and the X-ray jet of Swift J1644+57 followed this law for about 500 days and then switched off. The settling disc carries a magnetic field; the spinning hole winds it into a spiral and the rotation energy streams out as Poynting flux; along the field the plasma accelerates, with the energy per baryon $\Gamma(1+\sigma)=\mu$ conserved while magnetic energy turns into motion. This is a different scenario from the film "A star in the jet": here the jet is launched by the torn star itself, there a star meets a jet that already exists.
